Advocating for Self-Knowledge and Perimenopause Awareness :: 7th Jun 2023

Marva here... Welcome to my story.

On Menopause Marva I share a deeply personal and life-altering experience of collapsing and nearly losing my life due to low hemoglobin, iron, and magnesium levels during my journey through perimenopause.

This pivotal moment sparked within me a fervent desire to advocate for self-knowledge, understanding one’s body, and raising awareness about the significance of recognizing and addressing perimenopause. In this blog, I aim to shed light on the importance of listening to our bodies, seeking knowledge, and embracing life during this transformative stage.

My personal journey has instilled in me an unwavering passion for spreading awareness and empowering women to embrace life during perimenopause. It was a wake-up call:
Look out for the post – The Day My World Changed. 7th of June 2019.

Marva
Never in a million years did I think that going to pick up a repeat prescription for my mum would save my life, but this is where my story begins. Walking out of the car into the doctor’s surgery, I never felt unwell.

I remember going up in the lift and the next thing I remember my doctor said you’re back we thought we had lost you...

I hope my journey will serve as a source of information, and my blog Menopause Marva can be a memorable, fun alliteration and space, (men-o-pause) does not mean we are putting ‘men on pause’ but is recognised as a fun and safe place for open discussion about this topic and all of the associated life experiences it brings.

In next weeks blog I will talk more in depth about my peri-menopause journey and how my World changed in the blink of an eye.
